Humberto Comellas has over 25 years experience in the technology industry.
A graduate of Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in computer
science, he has served as a CIO for two major international banks, Bank of Boston
International and Dresdner Bank Latienamerica from 1980 through 1998. He then
took the role of CIO for Codina Group in Coral Gables from 1998 through 2000,
where his experience and training enabled him to assist Codina Group expand
their complex network.
Mr. Comellas then took that experience and helped found the technology affiliate of
a prominent South Florida CPA firm, Berkowitz Dick Pollack & Brant as president
of onsiteam advisors, LLC the last seven years. Mr. Comellas’ passion is serving
clients and enabling technological solutions to enhance their business strategies.
A longtime resident of South Florida, Mr. Comellas has devoted his professional
career to assisting clients solve complex technical challenges.
He has served in many technology forums and focus groups, and has established
himself as a recognized expert in IT. He has served as chair of the technology
practice group for IGAF (International Group of Accounting Firms), as committee
member of the SFTA (South Florida Technology Alliance) membership committee
and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Technology Committee. He has
spoken to numerous audiences on the topic of Business Continuation and Disaster
Recovery as well as on Internal Controls and Security. His hands-on experience
and reputation can enable your business to better plan, integrate and use
technology.
Sharing his passion for client service is Mr. Comellas’ unparalleled commitment to
children. He is a longtime advocate on the fight against child abuse and neglect
through organizations like Make a Wish Foundation. He volunteers his time with
Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Take Stock in Children as a mentor for at risk
kids. Mr. Comellas’ passion for children has also guided him to be an active
participant in his parish’s youth ministry helping teens and middle school kids avoid
peer pressures, drugs, alcohol and other negative influences in their lives.
Mr. Comellas can also be seen pacing the field as the head coach for his son’s
travel league baseball team the South Florida Lightning.
